If you are a pet parent, have you ever thought that during emergencies, how you are going to handle and protect your pets?<\/p>\n<p>Most animal healthcare organizations usually keep on reminding pet owners to consider their furry friends, when preparing for emergencies. Families need to be prepared to survive for at least three days without water and electricity in emergency, where they need to be well equipped with food stock and water. Moreover, pet training for emergency is also crucial as it helps your furry friend to act fast along with you and support you.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the few things that you need to consider and store in advance for your pet in case of emergency.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identification tags or microchips attached to their collars with up-to-date information related to your name, current address and cell number.<\/li>\n<li>Tags should be properly fastened to collars along with having leashes and harness.<\/li>\n<li>Keep a current photo of your pet for identification in case of missing.<\/li>\n<li>Have a comfortable and safe pet carrier apart from leash or harness.<\/li>\n<li>Arrange food for at least three days in an airtight, waterproof container.<\/li>\n<li>For your pets, arrange three days of water, as you will store for yourself and family.<\/li>\n<li>Store an extra pet care supplies for emergency in a waterproof and airtight container. Do not forget to keep treatment history of your pet in first aid kit.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare a well-equipped first aid kit, which includes all the emergency materials required for your pet. The main materials that your pet first aid kit should include are cotton wool, cotton bandage rolls, bandage tape and scissors, antibiotic ointment, latex gloves, saline solution, flea and tick preventive products and isopropyl alcohol. If possible, include a pet first aid guide, which can be of much use.<\/li>\n<li>Place photocopies of your pet\u2019s registration information, adoption papers and other important documents including vaccination and health records in a clean plastic bag or waterproof container.<\/li>\n<li>Have a crate or carrier handy in case you need to evacuate along with your pets, if it\u2019s practical to do so.<\/li>\n<li>Arrange a poly bag full of familiar things of your pet such as favorite toys, bedding kit or treats. This helps to reduce anxiety and stress in your pet during unwanted situations.<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s hygienic and good if you add litter box, newspaper, paper towels, plastic trash bags and household chlorine bleach to suffice your pet\u2019s sanitation needs that can be helpful in emergency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Well, preparing in advance can help you save your pet when unnatural thing happens.
