Effipro DUO spot-on is a new combination for cats to be used against flea and tick infestation. The spot is intended for the prevention and treatment of fleas and prevention of the multiplication of fleas by preventing flea eggs from developing in adult fleas for 12 weeks after application. The single-dose offers continuous acaricidal efficacy for 2 weeks against Ixodes ricinus, and for 4 weeks against Dermacentor reticulatus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus. Existing ticks may not be killed within 48 hours.
This clinically proven solution contains active substances fipronil and pyriproxyfen. Fipronil is a broad-spectrum insecticide that controls fleas, ticks and other ectoparasites on cats. Pyriproxyfen is an insect growth regulator (IGR) that targets insect endocrine systems and mimics juvenile hormone activity. Pyriproxyfen sterilises adult fleas and inhibits the development of immature stages. Effipro DUO is an excellent proactive approach to flea management.
