Frontline Plus for Dogs is the leading name in canine flea and tick protection. This fast-acting and long-lasting topical treatment offers comprehensive protection against fleas and ticks. It effectively kills all life stages of fleas, including eggs, larvae, and pupae, as well as all stages of ticks—larvae, nymphs, and adults. This means your dog is protected not only from visible parasites but also from the hidden, immature stages of these pests that may be present in your home.
Frontline Plus topical treatment for dogs has been trusted by dog parents for over 20 years. It effectively protects against parasites that can transmit harmful diseases, such as Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Frontline Plus is generally considered safe for most dog breeds, including pregnant, breeding, and nursing dogs. With just one application each month, it provides year-round protection from a variety of parasites for your furry friends.
Frontline Plus for dogs contains two active ingredients, fipronil and s-methoprene. After application, the formula quickly spreads and covers the entire body of the dog. The ingredients localize on your dog's skin surface, in the hair and in the sebaceous glands. These glands work as a reservoir and continuously replenish the formula on the dog's skin and coat.
Fipronil targets the adult fleas and ticks on your pet. S-methoprene prevents the laying of fertile eggs and stops larval and pupal development. Thus, it prevents the re-infestation of your pet and contamination of your home.

Frontline Plus kills fleas by interrupting their nervous system functions. This makes fleas hyperactive just before dying. These fleas rise, often surfacing on the pet's coat. Meaning, when you see active fleas on your pet's coat after treating them with Frontline Plus, it indicates that the treatment is working.
Frontline Plus kills fleas once the parasites come in contact with the treated pet. Fleas and ticks do not need to bite your dog to be killed.
