Selehold for cats contains the active ingredient selamectin. Once applied, the formula is distributed systemically. It is absorbed into the cat's bloodstream, protecting against heartworms and intestinal worms. Simultaneously, selamectin is distributed across the pet's skin and hair to protect against external parasites.

In addition to killing adult fleas, Selehold for heartworm prevention also eliminates flea eggs and larvae from the cat's environment, thus breaking the flea life cycle and preventing future flea infestations.

How to Use Selehold Topical on Cats?

• Measure your cat's weight to select the right dosage.
• Remove the pipette from the pack.
• Hold the pipette in an upright position and twist and pull the cap off.
• Turn the cap around, placing its other end on the pipette. Push and twist the cap to break the seal. Remove the cap from the pipette.
• Part the cat's hair at the base of the neck in front of the shoulder blades until the skin is visible.
• Place the tip of the pipette onto the cat's skin and squeeze it several times to empty its contents in one spot onto the skin.
• For heartworm prevention, administer within one month of the cat's first exposure to mosquitoes and monthly afterwards until one month after the last exposure to mosquitoes.
• If you miss a dose, immediately administer a dose and resume with monthly dosing.
• When replacing another heartworm preventive, administer the first dose of Selehold within a month of the last dose of the former product.
• For ear mite treatment, do not apply directly to the ear canal.

Selehold for Cats Dosing Guide:

Selehold for cats is for topical use only. Do not administer it orally. Do not use in kittens under six weeks of age. Avoid using in debilitated cats or cats suffering from concomitant disease. Do not use in cats with hypersensitivity to the active ingredient. Avoid shampooing frequently or applying Selehold to the wet coat.

Selamectin may be administered to heartworm-positive cats aged 6 weeks or older after consulting a vet. It can be used during pregnancy and lactation. Keep the treated cat away from fire and other sources of ignition for at least 30 minutes or until the application is dry. Prior to administration, all cats should be tested for existing heartworm infections. Infected cats should undergo the vet-recommended treatment to remove adult heartworms.

Wash your hands after use. The product is highly flammable; keep it away from heat, sparks, open flames or other sources of ignition. Avoid smoking, eating or drinking while handling the product. Do not come in direct contact with the treated animal until the application is dry. Individuals with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient should consult their healthcare professional before applying it to a cat.
