This fast-acting treatment stops reinfesting fleas from biting your pet within minutes and quickly kills them after contact with your cat. Additionally, it kills flea larvae in the environment of a treated cat, breaking the flea life cycle and preventing reinfestation.

How Does Advantage Topical for Cats Work?

This topical cat treatment contains imidacloprid. When applied topically, this active ingredient spreads across the lipid layer of the cat's skin and coat. It affects the nervous system of fleas, causing paralysis and death of the parasites. The formula kills fleas on contact, preventing itchy and painful bites. It also kills flea larvae in the surroundings of a treated cat, breaking the flea life cycle and preventing reinfestations.

• Weigh your cat for dosage accuracy.
• Remove the required applicator from the pack.
• Hold the applicator upright and pull off its cap.
• Reverse the cap and push it back on the applicator.
• Twist the cap to break the seal and remove it from the applicator.
• For easy application, the cat should be standing.
• Remove any collar (if your cat is wearing one) before application and place it back after the treatment is dry.
• Part the cat's hair between the shoulder blades until the skin is visible.
• Squeeze the applicator firmly twice after placing its tip on the cat's skin and apply the treatment on the cat's skin.
• Ensure that you keep the applicator away from your cat's eyes or mouth.
• Avoid applying the treatment while the cat is wet.

• It may be used at the same time as treatment for worms and with daily or monthly heartworm preventives.
• If re-treatment is essential earlier than four weeks, do not re-treat more than once a week.

This flea treatment is suitable for use in pregnant and lactating cats. Avoid contact with your pet's eyes or mouth. It is not necessary to treat unweaned kittens. Treat the mother until weaning, then treat individual kittens. This spot-on formula may discolor certain surfaces. Avoid your cat's contact with such surfaces after treatment until the application is dry.
