NexGard Spectra contains afoxolaner and milbemycin oxime as its active ingredients. After administration, the active components are absorbed into the dog's bloodstream. The formula causes overstimulation in the nervous systems of the relevant parasites, resulting in their death. Afoxolaner targets ectoparasites (fleas, ticks, and mites). Milbemycin oxime manages endoparasites (heartworm and intestinal worms) within your pet's digestive system and relevant organs.

According to the product label, NexGard Spectra kills fleas within 6-8 hours. It killed more than 90% of brown dog ticks and Asian longhorned ticks within 48 hours, as per studies referenced in the label.

How to Use NexGard Spectra Chews for Dogs?

NexGard Spectra is not for use in humans. You should keep these chews out of the reach of children, uninformed people, and pets. In case of accidental ingestion, immediately consult a physician. NexGard Spectra can be used in pregnant, breeding, or lactating female dogs. However, its safety has not been evaluated in breeding male dogs. These chews should be used with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurologic disorders.

Do not administer NexGard Spectra to puppies under 8 weeks of age or under 4.4 lbs of body weight. As it is an oral treatment, there are no restrictions on your dog’s swimming, bathing, and shampooing before or after the treatment.
