Sentinel Flavor Tabs is a comprehensive 5-in-1 treatment that protects dogs from five different kinds of parasites. With just one monthly dose, these tablets ensure your canine friend is safe from fleas, heartworm disease and three types of intestinal worms. Lufenuron, one of the active ingredients in Sentinel, prevents flea eggs from hatching or maturing, breaking the flea life cycle and controlling flea populations.
Prescribed for over 20 years, Sentinel flea and worm treatment comes in tasty pork, liver-flavored tablets that dogs love, making administration easy and convenient. Sentinel is safe for use in puppies as young as 4 weeks of age, allowing you to start parasite protection early. Sentinel flea and heartworm tablets are available in four different weight-specific packs, ensuring a perfect fit for dogs of all sizes.
Sentinel monthly flea and worm tablets for dogs contain active ingredients lufenuron and milbemycin oxime. Lufenuron works as an insect growth inhibitor. After a bloodmeal, the female flea ingests lufenuron that is deposited in its eggs. It prevents the majority of flea eggs from hatching or maturing, thus breaking the flea life cycle and preventing and controlling flea populations.
Milbemycin oxime interferes with invertebrate neurotransmission. It eliminates the tissue stage of heartworm larvae as well as the adult stage of hookworm, roundworm and whipworm infestations when administered as indicated on the label.
As per studies using experimental flea infestations referenced in the label, lufenuron delivered more than 95% control of flea egg development with a single dose.

It should not be used in puppies under four weeks of age or less than two pounds of body weight.
Lufenuron tablets have been used and tested safely in pregnant females, breeding males and puppies over six weeks of age. Milbemycin oxime has been tested safely in pregnant females, breeding males and females, and puppies over two weeks of age.

Sentinel is a palatable, pork liver-flavored monthly tablet for dogs. It prevents heartworm disease in dogs and protects against fleas, roundworms, hookworms and whipworms.
If your pet has experienced any allergic reaction to any of the active ingredients used in the treatment, let your vet know. Tell your vet if your dog has gone through any illness recently or is still recovering from any health condition. Before beginning treatment with Sentinel, you should test your dog for heartworm infection and follow the course of treatment recommended by the vet if your dog is infected.
Sentinel Flavor Tabs are suitable for use in puppies and dogs from 4 weeks of age, weighing at least 2 pounds.
You should administer Sentinel Flavor Tabs once every month, preferably on the same date and continue treatment throughout the year for uninterrupted protection.
The risk of heartworm disease may be reduced during the cold weather, but it is never zero. This is why you should give your dog a heartworm preventive throughout the year for continuous protection.
If you miss a dose, give one dose immediately and resume with the monthly dosing schedule.
