Interceptor Spectrum chews contain milbemycin oxime and praziquantel as active ingredients. After administration, the formula is absorbed into your dog's bloodstream. Milbemycin oxime interferes with invertebrate neurotransmission. It prevents heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue stage of heartworm larvae and controls hookworms, roundworms, and whipworm infections. Praziquantel is effective against tapeworm infections.

How to Use Interceptor Plus (Interceptor Spectrum) Heartworm Chews on Dogs?

• Weigh your dog to determine the correct dosage strength.
• Administer Interceptor Plus orally at monthly intervals, preferably on the same day of the month. It can be offered to the dog by hand.
• Alternatively, it can be offered with a small amount of dog food or as other tablets.
• Observe your dog closely after administration to ensure it consumes the entire dose. If the entire dose is not taken, give a full recommended dose immediately.
• Administer the first dose within one month of the dog's first exposure to mosquitoes, followed by monthly dosing until at least 6 months after the dog’s last seasonal exposure.
• When switching from another heartworm preventive product to Interceptor Plus, administer the first dose within 30 days of the last dose of the former product.
• If you miss a dose or if treatment is delayed, immediately give a dose of Interceptor Plus and resume the dosing schedule.
• For the control of intestinal worms, use Interceptor Plus (Interceptor Spectrum) every month. For puppies, the minimum recommended treatment is at 2, 4, 8, and 12 weeks. In pregnant dogs, treat at mating and every month thereafter. Treat before whelping.

Interceptor Spectrum Dosing Guide:

For dogs over 100.0 lbs, administer the appropriate combination of Interceptor Plus Chews.

Interceptor Spectrum is not effective against adult heartworms (Dirofilaria immitis). Test your dogs for existing heartworm infection before starting heartworm preventive treatment. If your dog is infected, consult a vet to treat the disease and remove heartworms before starting a preventive program.

The safety of Interceptor Spectrum has not been evaluated in breeding and lactating dogs. Do not use it in puppies under two weeks of age. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
